NHS Big Tea 2026: Host a party on or around 5 July
Join us in celebrating the NHS’s 78th birthday and all of the people who make our NHS what it is with a cup of tea, a slice of cake, and plenty of party energy!
By taking part in our Big Tea celebrations, you’ll help raise vital funds to support service users, patients, and staff in ways that go beyond NHS funding.
This year, the celebrations are even more special. As well as the NHS marking 78 wonderful years, Mersey Care is also celebrating its 25th anniversary - making it a double birthday to remember. And what better way to toast the occasion than with double the cake?
There are many ways in which you can show your appreciation for our NHS and the people who make it what it is, from hosting a tea party with family and friends – or taking the fun to your workplace, community group or even school. Any excuse for tea, cake and making a difference.
Our amazing NHS staff will be putting on Big Tea celebrations around our hospitals and services to raise funds to support service users, patients and families accessing our services, providing the extras that can make the world of difference to someone during challenging times. Money raised will also support our hardworking NHS staff.
The Big Birthday Bake Off
We're encouraging those who take part this year to host a Big Birthday Bake Off -- encouraging attendees to bring along a birthday cake or other sweet treat (we're not fussy when it comes to cakes and bakes!). Not only will this give you more opportunities to raise funds through selling slices of cake, it will add a fun element to your celebrations and a element of healthy competition. It will also mean more cake to try and buy -- you might even discover a new favourite!
What date is the NHS Big Tea 2026?
While you can host your NHS Big Tea event at a time to suit you, we're suggesting between Mon 29th Jun - Fri 10th Jul 2026 - which gives a week either side of Sunday 5 July.
Have a break and donate
If you can’t host your own event but really want to support our tea-riffic cause, you can show the love by taking a break and making a small donation to Mersey Cares NHS Charity. Photos and tags on social media using the Hashtag #NHSBigTeaMC are most welcome!
