We’re egg‑stremely delighted to share that our Easter Egg Appeal for Children in Care has been a wonderful success, thanks to the kindness and generosity shown by businesses, corporate partners, community groups, and individuals across Cheshire and Merseyside.

Thanks to your incredible response, our Children in Care nurses were able to bring chocolate‑filled smiles to many vulnerable children and young people, many of whom are facing challenging circumstances. An incredible 442 Easter eggs were dropped off at collection points across the Mersey Cares footprint (worth over £1,300) and more than £500 was donated online.

The Children in Care nursing teams were deeply touched by the generosity shown to the children they support and particularly enjoyed meeting many of the donors in person. The 7F (1st City of Liverpool) Squadron RAF Cadets played a special role this year, wanting to get involved to bring kindness to those less fortunate and personally delivering Easter eggs to the Liverpool Children in Care team where they learnt more about the vital work they do.

CI Jess Roden, who attended the Norris Green Family Health Clinic in Liverpool, with the RAF Cadets, said:

The cadets wanted to do something kind for children in care across the Liverpool area. Being young people themselves, they felt it was really important that every child gets to enjoy something special, so they set out to help make sure each child received an Easter egg."

Agile Workforce Services also personally delivered donations to our Sefton drop‑off point, where they met the Liverpool Children in Care team, who were overjoyed with the eggs and chocolate treats received. As valued contractors working closely with Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust — and following their sponsorship of our Star Awards last year — their continued commitment to giving back means so much to us and the communities we serve.

In response to donations from clients of  Regus Liverpool Mann Island, Kirsten Kerr, Team Manager for the Children in Care Specialist Nursing Team, said:

“A big thank you to Regus and its clients for the Easter egg donations for our Children in Care. It’s amazing how many you’ve shared — these will go a long way for children who may not have an Easter egg to open on the day.”

Thank you too to Howden Insurance Broker's for their kind donation of eggs which were delivered to our St Helen's Children in Care team.

Adam Wright who facilitated the staff collection and egg delivery said:

"Howden Manchester Corporate & Commercial were delighted to donate to an outstanding organisation. The work the Children in Care team for St Helens do is absolutely amazing. The passion and dedication the team apply is above and beyond and Howden Manchester are completely on board with this. To the Children in Care team in St Helens, continue to do an amazing job!"

Speaking about the impact in St Helens, Team Leader for Looked after Children St Helens, Shelley Simmons shared:

“This year’s Easter campaign has been a wonderful success for the St Helens Children in Care Team. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we received an impressive number of Easter egg donations from local businesses, our rugby club, and many kind‑hearted individuals.

Delivering the eggs has been a highlight for our team. Seeing the smiles on the children’s and young people’s faces has been incredibly rewarding, and it has shown just how much these small acts of kindness mean to them. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the campaign.”

The Knowsley Team were supported for the second year by the incredible team at Santander, organised by Richard Hennity who kindly delivered the treats to our Manor Farm collection point - along with a generous donation.

“We're delighted the Santander Corporate and Commercial team in the Northwest has been able to support such a worthwhile and valuable cause helping bring some Easter joy to children within the Mersey Care region," he said.

Mersey Cares Strategic Charity Lead Joanne Watson added:

“Thank you so much to everyone who donated an Easter egg, made a cash donation, displayed a poster, or shared our appeal. Every contribution has helped to make our second Easter Egg Appeal a real success. While an Easter egg may seem like a small gesture, receiving a gift like this can make a child feel valued, remembered, and cared for. We are incredibly grateful for the support shown and are so pleased that so many people chose to engage with the appeal and support Mersey Cares in these truly heartwarming ways.”

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Santander, Howdens, 7F (1st City of Liverpool) Squadron RAF Cadets, Tesco Widnes, Regus, Liverpool Mann Island, Liverpool St Helens Rugby Club, Agile Workforce Services, the Mersey Care Estates Team, Mersey Care staff, and every other organisation and individual who supported our Easter mission. A special mention also to Shelley’s mum and her line dancing team, who, after supporting our Christmas Secret Santa Appeal, kindly showed their generosity once again. You really are all amazing.
