Let’s sprinkle kindness, share some chocolate, and brighten a child’s Easter!
The Easter Bunny has officially clocked in… and he’s asked us to help him with a VERY important mission. We’re thrilled to launch this year’s Mersey Cares Easter Egg Appeal, spreading chocolatey cheer to children in care across Sefton, Knowsley, Liverpool and St Helens.
After the heartwarming success of our Secret Santa Appeal (as well as last year's first Easter Egg Appeal), we’re once again rallying together to bring a boost of joy to the children and young people who access our services—especially those going through challenging circumstances.
Why your support matters
Every year, around 1,000 children arrive into our Children in Care services. Many come with very little—sometimes nothing more than a bin bag holding a few belongings. For a child facing uncertainty, even the smallest gesture can make a world of difference.
A simple chocolate egg may seem insignificant, but to a child who’s scared, unsettled, or beginning a new chapter, it can be a reminder that they matter and bring a smile when they need one most.
As well as a chocolatey treat, your support helps our teams offer reassurance, comfort, and warmth.
When is Easter this Year?
We know it's only February (and it feels like we've only just bid farewell to Christmas!) but Easter arrives relatively early this year, with Easter Sunday falling on 5 April. This earlier date means our Easter Egg Appeal is launching much sooner to allow plenty of time for individuals, businesses, schools, social groups and other community organisations to get involved! The earlier you can donate your eggs the better so we can make an even bigger impact together.
How you can get involved
There are two ways you can support our appeal, either drop off an egg at a collection point, or make a donation and we'll ask the Easter Bunny to deliver one for you.

We’re collecting new, unopened Easter eggs at four drop-off points across the Trust.
