This July, celebrate the 77th birthday of the NHS by joining the nation for the NHS Big Tea — a fun and refreshing way to support Mersey Cares and show your love for our beloved national health service.
Whether you’re gathering friends at home, hosting a brew break at work, planning something with your school, or organising a community event, there are endless ways to get involved.
When: Between 30th June and 6th July 2025
Hold your tea party on 5 July (the NHS’s official birthday) or anytime that week — or you could even stretch it out with a week-long “part-tea” and a range of activities!
How to Raise Funds:
Turn tea and cake into real change by:
Asking for donations in return for tea, cake, and great company (of course!)
Hosting a bake-off, tea-themed quiz, or one of the many ideas available in the NHS Big Tea fundraising pack
Including extra activities such as a raffle or 'guess the tea bags in the jar' to boost your fundraising
Why Support Mersey Cares?
We’ve already made a real difference across the region — from providing meaningful resources for people living with dementia, including therapy dolls, door wraps and fidget items, to funding local community groups and wellbeing activities that support recovery and connection.
Thanks to generous support, we’ve also transformed outdoor spaces into calming, therapeutic environments for patients and staff to enjoy, have funded essential suicide awareness resources including the Zero Suicide Alliance's newly updated training, and have given Christmas gifts, Easter Eggs and care packages for children in care across the Mersey Care footprint.
Initiatives like Wellbeing Through Wildlife and Wellbeing on Wheels have also enabled us to focus on staff wellbeing - and giving back to those who give tirelessly to care for others.
