NHS Big Tea 2026: Host a party on or around 5 July
Join us in celebrating the NHS’s 78th birthday with a cup of tea, a slice of cake, and plenty of good cheer!
By taking part in our Big Tea celebrations, you’ll help raise vital funds to support service users, patients, and staff in ways that go beyond NHS funding.
This year, the celebrations are even more special. As the NHS marks 78 wonderful years, Mersey Cares is also celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026 - making it a double birthday! And what better way to mark the occasion than with double the cake?
There are many ways in which you can show your appreciation for our NHS staff and superheroes, from hosting a tea party with family and friends – or taking the fun to your workplace or school. Any excuse for tea, cake and making a difference, right?
Our amazing NHS staff will be putting on Big Teas around our hospitals and services around the NHS birthday around the 5 July to raise funds to support our patients and their families accessing our services, providing some of the extras that can make the world of different during challenging times - as well as the staff who care so much.
At home, in the office, at school...
If you want to host your own Big Tea event at home, work, school or community group – you can do it on 5 July (which is actually a Saturday this year) or any other time to suit, and we will support you by providing materials to support the hosting of your event such as bunting and posters. Have a break and donate
If you can’t host your own event but really want to support our tea-riffic cause, you can show the love by taking a break and making a small donation to Mersey Cares NHS Charity. Photos and tags on social media using the Hashtag #NHSBigTeaMC are most welcome!
Suggested dates for events
While you can host your NHS Big Tea event at a time to suit you, we're suggesting between Mon 29th Jun - Fri 10th Jul 2026 - which gives a week either side of Saturday 5 July.
