Charity Raffle raises for £1950 for Mersey Cares!

19 April 2024

Our charity raffle to win a signed Liverpool FC shirt or hospitality experience has raised an incredible £1,950 for our services.

Julie Fletcher, who works in the community for the Integrated Community Reablement and Assessment Service (ICRAS) team in south Liverpool and has worked in the NHS for 36 years was delighted to win a Liverpool FC shirt signed by 18 first team players.

Speaking about her win, Julie told Mersey Cares:

“I have worked in the NHS for 36 years, the last 7 of those have been in the community. I entered the competition as I thought the prize of a signed jersey was great! I was really happy to win and decided to give the prize to my son who is a massive LFC fan!”

Philip Antrobus, who works for Mersey Care, within the Workforce Systems Team won the second prize of two hospitality tickets to see Liverpool versus Sheffield United in a mid-week clash at Anfield. The experience included pre-match hospitality and a visit from former LFC player, Phil Neal.

“We had a great time at the game and the experience was great", he said after the game, which saw Liverpool win 3 – 1 with goals scored by Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister and in the 90th minute, Cody Gakpo.

"When I got the phone call to say I had won the two tickets I couldn't believe it, I didn't think for one minute that I would win. As a Liverpool fan trying to get tickets to games is virtually impossible, I have been trying to buy tickets to games with no luck so I was made up to get the news.

We were allowed into the Carlsberg dugout three hours before the game and had complimentary street food and tea and coffee before the game, and a pint at half-time. The seats we had in the main stand gave us a great view of the game and were very comfortable.

With Liverpool also winning the game, it was the perfect end to a fantastic day."

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who entered our charity raffle and helped us to raise £1950 to support more people across our Merseyside and Cheshire communities.
